Gone to the dogs


Apart from the obvious things that are prone to go-to-the-dogs, even most of the houses have noticeably gone to the four legged mammal. In case you don't really cotton on, please take a closer look at the sign boards my competent photographer buddy has captured.

Tiger don't surf

The reputation of having been devastated by the tsunami was obviously bad for business, and though there has been progress, the region is far from reconstructed. Officially, over 30,000 Sri Lankans were killed by the 2004 tsunami, many of them in this area on Sri Lanka's southeast coast. Thousands more here are still living a rudimentary existence in thatched houses without water or electricity.
