’D’ Day has arrived... Kandy or CR for plum ?

‘D Day’ has arrived for the two leading rugby clubs in the country, Kandy Sports Club and CR & FC. The Mecca of the sport in Sri Lanka, Longden Place, is the venue today (Sunday) for a titanic tussle for supremacy between these two clubs who are fighting-it-out for the Caltex League Rugby Championship with the kick-off at 4.30 p.m.

CH & FC finished third in the Caltex League Rugby Championship this season defeating Havelocks by 32 points (3 goals, 1 try, 2 penalties) to 10 (1 goal, 1 penalty) at Maitland Crescent yesterday after leading 15-0 at half time. CH won the first-round game 15-13 too.

Trinity triumph 12-0

Trinity registered hat-trick of wins when scored a rousing 12 points (1 goal, 1 try) to nil win over S. Thomas in their 29th encounter for the Canon R. S. de Seram Shield rugby match played at the Bogambara Stadium. At half Trinity led 7-0.
