Apollo Hospitals record Rs. 683 m gross profit

Chairman of Apollo Hospitals Dr. Prathap C. Reddy in his annual report 2005/06 said the year under review has been a very significant year for Apollo Hospitals, Colombo.

Apollo's financials moved from Red to Black, by reporting a small profit for the first time in four years, but more importantly we are constantly endeavouring to extend our reach "to touch more and more lives" and the many innovations and firsts that we are bringing into the island. Apollo earned the recognition of being named as one of the top 20 "Super Brands" in Sri Lanka by Lanka Monthly Digest, a leading business magazine.

The fourth year of operation has shown a marked progressive trend. It earned a revenue of Rs. 1,832 million with a Gross Profit of Rs. 683 million.

Turnover for the year ended, March 31, 2006 increased by 10.56 percent to Rs. 1,831.79 million from Rs. 1,656.85 in 2005. There were no debentures issued for the year ended March 31, 2006, except for 400,000 guaranteed redeemable debentures of Rs. 1000 each were issued in the year 2001, of which 100,000 debentures of Rs. 1000 each were redeemed on December 12, 2005.
