Grenade fired at TNA MP's residence, two soldiers killed
The LTTE yesterday exploded a claymore fragmentation mine killing two
soldiers and wounding another two in Meesalai, Jaffna.
The soldiers were on a road clearing patrol when the LTTE operatives
detonated the mine using a remote control device. Injured soldiers were
admitted to the Palaly Military Hospital.
In another development, unidentified attackers fired two Rocket
Propel Grenades (RPG) at the residence of Batticaloa District TNA MP S.
Jayanandamurthi on Friday night. The Parliamentarian and his family were
asleep at the time of the attack, but escaped unharmed. |
