15th Anniversary:
Great food at Great wall
The Great Wall of China is a unique achievement in architecture and
is considered one of the global wonders of the world. It was enlisted as
a 'World Heritage' site by UNESCO in 1987. From a distance this historic
structure is like a gigantic dragon that runs across the land by the
'Yellow Sea'.
The wall goes across deserts, grassland, and mountains. The Great
Wall of China stretches approximately 6,700 Kilometres (4,163 miles)
from east to west of China.
Great Wall of China has been a monument that represented the glorious
history of China. The wall stands as willpower, wisdom and ambition of
the Chinese people.
At the Great Wall Restaurant, Bambalapitiya Restaurant Manager,
Adrian Gomez and his staff take the aspiration from the Great Wall of
China to offer its guests, both foreign and Sri Lankan the very best in
Chinese culinary delights which are truly remarkable in every way. 'Our
vision is to be a restaurant that is a modern wonder in delicious
cuisine, Gomez said.
Great Wall Restaurant Bambalapitiya takes a carnival atmosphere every
Sunday night with live music provided to make guests 'feel great' at the
'Great Wall'.
Great Wall Restaurant has made elaborate plans to celebrate its 15th
anniversary next month. "GWR has expanded during the years and has plans
to set up outlets in the outskirts of Colombo", Gomez said. Chinese
Executive Chef Meng Guang together with Sri Lankan chefs, Sirisoma
Ekanayaka, Bertie Senevirantne, and Gratian Ranasinghe, combine their
culinary talents to offer guests the very best in Chinese cuisine at GWR.
The Sri Lankan chefs have been with GWR for the past 15 years, Gomez
said.
