46th death anniversary of Al Haj Dr. T. B. Jayah

Conference of Sri Lankan Malays (COSLAM) has made arrangements to mark the above event with a Commemoration Meeting to be held on Sunday, 06th August 2006 at 9.30 a.m. at the Gaffoor Hall, Zahira College, Colombo, under the distinguished patronage of Ms. Nazirah Hussain, High Commissioner of Malaysia in Sri Lanka.

Deshamanya Prof. M. T. Furkhan will deliver an oration on the life and times of Al Haj Dr. T. B. Jayah with particular emphasis on his contribution towards the independence struggle of Ceylon.

The prize-winners of the competitions held in connection with Hari Bahasa Melayu (Malay Language Day) will also receive their awards on this day, dedicated to the revival of the Malay Language in Sri Lanka. COSLAM calls on all Malays to give life to this day by using Malay in conducting all activities.
