'Celebrating toughness'

Stone N String, the exclusive licence holder for the 10th South Asian Games unveiled the official souvenirs at a colourful fashion show which was held at the Cinnamon Grand Alrium on August 11.

Its theme being 'Celebrating toughness', the show had a blend of models on the ramp ranging from professionals, actresses, youth to kids displaying various collections such as 'Desirables', 'Joy of participation', 'Memories', 'Forget me not', 'Glamour collection and 'Forever collection'.

Each collection comprised different souvenirs like mementos, T-shirts, caps, hand bags, coasters, wall clocks, mouse pads, silver medallions which have the emblem of the eight - participating countries' flags on one side and jewellery which was the highlight of the event.

Celebrating the unity of sportsmanship, the official mascot of the games Jungle fowl, the national bird was brought in amidst the unique drumbeats of Jananath Warakagoda.

The South Asian Games will be held in Colombo from August 18 to 28, 2006 with the participation of Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives and Afghanistan.
