Dr. Ponrajah's death was due to negligence - Mrs. Ponrajah

Dr. Lorna Ponrajah in a case filed in the district Court of Colombo states that the reason for the death of her husband Dr. Anthony Naushad Ponrajah was the negligence and/or carelessness of the second defendant: For the reason that the second defendant who was to be on duty at the Accident Service Unit on July 6, 2004 to treat Dr. Ponrajah when he was admitted to the Accident Service was not present and thereby neglected his duty of care towards Dr. Ponrajah.

Dr. Anthony Naushad Ponrajah died due to the reason that the second defendant was not present at his place of employment to give immediate treatment to Dr. Ponrajah. Mr. Suren Peiris, Attorney-at-law with Vinodh Wickramasuriya, Mahasen Munasinghe, Sharmila Amarawickrama, Attorneys-at-Law instructed by V. Kularatne Associates Attorneys-at-Law appeared for the plaintiff.
