Four new Lak Sathosa outlets in Jaffna soon

The Essential Services Authority will set up four new Lak Sathosa outlets in the Jaffna district within the next three weeks. The Ministry of Trade and Commerce will assist the program.

Essential Services, Commissioner S.B. Divaratna told the `Sunday Observer', that the decision was taken to bring down the prices of essential consumer items, currently being sold at exorbitant rates in Jaffna.

Refuting certain statements on a prevailing food shortage in the peninsula, the Commissioner said that ample food stocks including sugar, dhal, rice, wheat flour and milk food have already been sent to Jaffna from the Colombo and Trincomalee harbours.
