ICICI Bank donates vehicle to Tipple Bio Resources Foundation

ICICI Bank, India's largest private sector Bank with operations in Sri Lanka, donated a vehicle to the Tipple Bio Resources Foundation, which has a model farm in CLF Kotagala as part of the bank's first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in Sri Lanka.

ICICI Bank's Country Head, Naveen K. Agarwal, said that ICICI Bank was happy to be involved in such a worthy cause and added that in India the Bank was involved in a range of CSR activities. "Whilst we hope to promote the Bank and expand our operations in Sri Lanka, it is our intention to contribute to the progress and development of the country and its people as well", said Agarwal.

The primary objectives of the Tipple Bio Foundation are to develop and demonstrate farming techniques in harmony with nature's laws and rhythms, promote full economic utilisation of bio resources - both plant and animal based thus making diversification of agriculture viable, to impart knowledge of bio technology in rural areas and thus enhance the living standards of farmers by increasing production and by minimising cost through water, pesticides and power saving techniques, to alleviate poverty by providing work throughout the year to agricultural labour and small farmers, and to educate youth, especially women and other underprivileged sections of society and help create employment for them.
