English Camp of Veyangoda Primary School

The first English Camp of the Veyangoda Primary School was conducted on October 27. Some of the main objectives of this camp were to develop confidence among students to interact in English, to encourage co-operative and collaborative learning, to develop leadership qualities and to introduce a novel learning culture.

The students took part in activities which helped develop leadership, team work, creativity and presentation skills.

Assistant Director of Education (English), S.W.G. Abeydeera, I.S.A. Attanagalla, M. Karunasena and Principal Veyangoda Primary School, H.A. Surathilaka are some of the people who provided their unstinted support and guidance towards the success of this project. They were assisted by Vice Principal, N.K.S. Mallika and all other staff members of the school.

The English teachers of the school, H.P.N. Pushpa Kanthi, M.A. Deepani Gunawardhana and P. Geethika Suriyaarachchi were some of the others who worked hard for the success of the English Camp. They had organised a variety of activities, some of which were dramas, songs, language games and a mini sports meet.

The new English Activity Room of the school was also opened on the occasion by the chief guest.
