Musical show to support soldier families

The Sri Lanka Army Seva Vanitha Unit has organised a 'Dee Viru Gee Sara' a musical show on December 17, from 7.00 pm at the BMICH.

The objective the musical show is to raise funds for a housing project, said Anoma Fonseka, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit at a media briefing. Popular singers, Rohana Weerasinghe, Deepika Priyadarshani, Nanda Malini, Pandith Amaradeva and other popular singers and famous artistes will perform at this show.

Tickets can be purchased from the National Lotteries Board Information Center.

She said, all proceeds of the musical show will be utilised to build nearly six houses mainly for soldiers who sacrificed their lives . Each house will cost Rs. 550,000.

"As a person who is very close to the Army, I know how my heart feels when my husband was at the battle field.

She added that the Seva Vanitha Unit works mainly for the welfare of families of soldiers to solve their problems.
