Sri Lanka Cricket to pick Best Curator

Cricket - Best curator or groundsman. Sri Lanka Cricket will break new ground and pick the best three and reward them adequately.

The winner will receive a sum of Rs. 100,000 and a set of clothing while the second and third will receive Rs. 75,000 and Rs. 50,000 respectively.

Preparation of good cricket pitches no doubt will help to develop the game, the Premier Trophy in particular.

From this year 2006/2007 cricket season, SLC has decided to introduce A Curator of the Year Award and the first three will be rewarded.

The criteria to judge the best curator will be based on the reports submitted by the match referees, umpires, captains and curators headed by Director of Pitches Anuruddha Polonowita.

The award will be decided by a three member panel comprising Kumar Boralessa, Ranil Abeynaike and Ranjith Fernando.
