Proposals for National Cultural Policy invited

The Ministry of Cultural Affairs and National Heritage will entertain proposals from the public on the formulation of a National Cultural Policy for Sri Lanka.

The vision of the National Cultural Policy is to foster the identity of Sri Lanka and to help it keep abreast with the rest of the world, while promoting development.

The main objectives of the National Cultural Policy are to build a cultural environment linked to the National development policy, to protect traditional cultural values from deterioration caused by various negative forces, to identify positive traditional values and to induce people to assimilate them to their lifestyle and to empower to resist negative cultural forces.
