Dhammissara, Vijayabahu emerge champions

VOLLEYBALL: Dhammissara Maha Vidyalaya, Nattandiya and
Vijayabahu National School, Hungama emerged under-18 boys and girls
champions respectively at the DSI Super Sport Schools Volleyball
Championships final played at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium yesterday.
In the boys final Dhammissara beat Divisamara MV, Seeduwa 3-2.
Dhammissara team played a well controlled game with all the players
showing better spiking skills and superior team work. It's main asset
was its strong defence and to spikes above the block.
The scores were 25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 20-25, 15-12. In the girls
final, Vijayabahu National School spikers had it easy winning by 3 sets
to 1 over Mihindupura Vidyalaya, Trincomalee. The scores being 25-21,
22-25, 25-23, 25-21. The winners took 94 minutes to complete their
comfortable win.
The under-16 championship were won by Senanayake MV, Madampe (Boys)
beating Divisamara MV, Seeduwa 15-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-20 and
Dhammissara MMV, Nattandiya (Girls) beating St. Mary's MV, Pitipana
25-19, 25-20, 20-25, 25-19 in the finals played during the morning
