Soldier killed in LTTE hand grenade

A soldier was killed and another wounded yesterday when a LTTE cadre lobbed a hand grenade at an army foot patrol in Point Pedro.

The attacker fled the scene after hurling the hand grenade at a morning army foot patrol.

The injured soldier was admitted to the Palali Military Hospital.

In another development, a Tiger sniper shot a soldier in the Vavunathivu military camp on Friday evening, seriously wounding him.
