SLCA awards today

CRICKET: The Awards Night of the Sri Lanka Cricketers Association (SLCA) in conjunction with "Sun and Fun" will take place today (Sunday) at the Waters Edge Grand Ballroom at 7.30 p.m.

This gala event will see outstanding performers on both the national and international level of last year being felicitated and also give the cricketing community of Sri Lanka to wish the national team "the very best" for the forthcoming World Cup to be staged in the West Indies.

The Sri Lanka team is scheduled to "take wing' on Wednesday. The awards to be presented include Cricketer of the Year, Premier Awards, Limited-Over awards, International awards (Sri Lankan Cricketer of the Year and Most Valuable Player), Best awards, ODI awards, Weekly Rating awards as well as special awards to the best coach, best umpire etc.

Pramodya, Wickremasinghe is the President of the SLCA with Graeme Labrooy as its Secretary and Rochana Jayawardena the Treasurer.
