The all new 'Latitude'
by Prasad Abu Bakr
Taj Samudra Colombo which
has always changed to keep up with the elegant turn arounds in the
hospitality industry did it again recently when under the command of its
new General Manager, Saurabh Ratan completed the last leg and opened its
all day dining restaurant 'Latitude'
 Its
timber flooring and wooden furniture stands as an inviting attraction to
the venue which is high lighted by a refreshing and vibrant colour
palette selected to entertain any tired visitor seeking to have a meal
within its enclosure. The unique ambience, which is a result of many
fine details is in fact, highlighted by the mix of orange, deep red and
green which adds loads of freshness to the already chic interior.
'Chic' is the word that comes to one's mind as one makes one's
entrance through the mock wine cellar designed as a special feature
representing the trends of the times. But all these details are not at
all an excuse to coverup for any short comings of the culinary
experience one will always expect of any restaurant and at 'Latitude'
there aren't any.
 What
one finds in this place is a perfect combination of cuisine one can
describe as international by all means.
Greek, Australian, Moroccon, Indian, French, Spanish and Sri Lankan
by all means!, the variety of food cultures one can travel through while
one glances at the menu that's served.
So! when you decide to dine at the 'Latitude' you are given a wide
choice of which dish from which country you want to dip into at
different times you visit the restaurant. Which in fact makes one want
to visit the place more than just once.
The desserts, beverages and wines can all stand as complimentary
entries to the choice of your main dish.
Pictured here is a view of a section of the restaurant with its state
of the art wine cellar at the entrance together with pictures of guests
who graced the occasion of the prestigious opening ceremony.
