Kandy on top with 1,072 points

ATHLETICS: Kandy Education Circuit Schools came on top collecting 1,072 points. Wettegama Education Circuit Schools came 2nd collecting 626 points while Matale got 3rd place collecting 155 points.

Over 4,000 Athletes participated in this 5-day Central Province Schools Track and Field Championships and prize Distribution was held under the patronage of Tikiri Kobbekaduwa, Governor Central Province.

The following athletes were adjudged the best performers at the Meet held from 25th to 29th June, 2007 at the Bogambara Stadium.

Under 11 - Boys (Track Events): I. D. Wijeratne - St. Sylvesters, kandy - 100 Mtrs. - 14.1 seconds.

Under 11 - Boys (Field Events): Yasaan Tennaokoon Pitawela - Trinity, kandy - Long Jump - 4.14 M.

Under 11 - Girls (Track Event): N. Laknapriya - Albian Tamil, Nuwara Eliya - 100 M. - 15.9 Sec.

Under 13 - Boys (Track Event): Dilum Fernando - Trinity, kandy - 100 M. 12.9 Sec.

Under 13 - Boys (Field Event): D. Dassanayake - Denuwara Dheeranands, MV - High Jump - 1.65 M.

Under 13 - Girls (Track Event): Madhani Wickremenayake - Sangamitta, Matale - 100 M. - 14.2 Sec.

Under 13 - Girls (Field Event): R. Harischandra - Denuwara Dheerananda-High Jump - 1.47 M.

Under 15 - Boys (Track Event): A. Karunanayake - Vision International, kandy - 100 M. - 12.6 Sec.
