Isipathana in 18-10 win over Trinity
RUGBY: Isipathana beat Trinity by 18 points ( 3 tries, 1 penalty) to
10 ( 2 tries) in the schools rugger match played at Pallekelle
yesterday. The winners led 15 - 5 at the breather.
Kasun Gamage, Dinesh Chaturanga and Vishwa Mithra Jayasinghe scored
the tries for the winners while Varun Priyantha put over the penalty.
Skipper Sean Wanigasekera and Azver Marzook were the try scorers for
Trinity. Orville Fernando refereed. Trinity won the under 16 match 49-0.
Trinity-under13 hockey champs
HOCKEY: Trinity College Kandy emerged under 13 hockey champions at
the recently concluded Kandy District Hockey Tournament held at Asgiriya,
Police Grounds, The Trinitians beat the following team in the
preliminary round:
Dharmaraja 'B' 8-0, Menikdiwela M.M.V. 1-0, Sri Sumangala 1-0, St.
Anthony's 2-0, Kingswood 2-0.
In the semi-finals, Trinity beat Dharmaraja by 3 goals to 2 goals and
in the final they beat Rahula 4 goals to 2.
The outstanding player of the team was vice-captain Kasun Jayasinghe
who scored 18 goals throughout the tournament including a hat-trick of
goals against Rahula in the final.
Sri Lanka name 30-member pool for Twenty20 World Cup
CRICKET: A squad of 30 players were named by Sri Lanka Cricket in
perperation for the ICC Twenty 20 World Cup to be held in South Africa
in September 2007.

Old Scouts' cricket at Pallekelle
CRICKET: The Rover Scout Crew team of the 1st Kandy Dharmaraja Scout
Group and the Old Rajans Scout Association team will play limited over
cricket match at the Open Prison Grounds, Pallekelle, Kandy today (8th)
starting at 10.00 a. m.
Assistant Superintendant of Prisons and Vice President of Dharmaraja
Old Boys Union, Tissa Jayasinghe will be the chief guest.
