Prasanna Alwis received the prestigious SUNFO Service Excellence Award from the United Nations on account of his services in the field of building constructions, on the World Population Day.

He was also awarded again in the year 2006 on the United Nations Youth Day Celebrations, in recognition of his innovative construction capabilities as a young entrepreneur.
