Thermo Plastics wins top industry award

M/s Thermo Plastics (Pvt) Ltd won the coveted award as "the most flexible partner" in the supply chain, at the recently concluded Brandix group's supplier recognition awards. Each year brandix recognises their main suppliers whom they recognise as contributors and stakeholders in their growth.


President/MD of Thermo Plastics, Rashid Hameen receives the award from Director, Brandix Lanka Ltd., Ajit Johnpillai.

Thermo Plastics, a specialist flexible packaging solutions provider to the apparel industry in Sri Lanka, and their packaging products serve the top global apparel labels through prominent manufacturing concerns in the country. Thermo Plastics were honoured with this award for maintaining timely and quality delivery standards consistently and meeting the supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for two years running.

Thermo Plastics is a subsidiary of the BAM group of companies, a vertically integrated total solutions provider in the apparel sector with diversified value added operations. B. A. Mahipala, a well-known Sri Lankan entrepreneur, a pioneer of the apparel industry in Sri Lanka, is the chairman of Thermo Plastics and the BAM group of companies.

MD/President of Thermo Plastics, Rashid Hameen attributed this achievement to the excellent team work and dedication of his team,the guidance and support of the BAM group and the Brandix group which placed implicit trust in their capability to meet tough quality and delivery demands driving them to excellence.

Established in 1986, Thermo Plastics (Pvt) Limited is considered a trailblazer in infusing verticality into the now thriving apparel industry in Sri Lanka. A BoI approved venture under the umbrella of BAM Holdings Limited, the company berthed the niche manufacture of flexible packaging for the apparel industry encompassing a current capacity of 18 million pieces monthly.

Their product portfolio includes polypropylene and polyethylene bags in shapes conforming to angular and straight hangers, envelopes, pillow case type bags, gusseted and perforated bags with ventilation holes and adhesive tapes. State-of-the-art printing can create up to six colour printing on these products.
