Foton vehicles more economical, says MD

Foton vehicles are ideal for Sri Lanka's roads and are more
economical than other vehicles in the market, Indra Traders (Pvt) Ltd,
Managing Director Y. S. H. R. S. Silva said.
Foton Motors Company Ltd., the fifth largest automobile manufacturer
appointed Indra Traders (Pvt) Ltd (ITL) as the local agent for Foton
brand vehicles in Sri Lanka.
Brand Manager Foton Motors Company Ltd., Meng Jobu Guangman said that
they introduced eight major brands of vehicles namely Auman, View, Saga,
Aumark, Ollin, Sup and Forland to the Sri Lankan market.
"As the largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in China, Foton
manufactures a complete range of vehicle models for our agents all over
the world-primarily to boost the Chinese economy. Foton has 28,000
employees and expects to manufacture more than one million vehicle units
by 2010, he said.
Foton Motor Company's research and development is done in Japan,
Germany and Taiwan. It has its spare parts branches in the main
provinces and municipalities directly under the Chinese Government, he
said.
Indra Traders Ltd., one of the market leaders in the motor vehicle
trade in Sri Lanka handles all categories of reconditioned commercial
vehicles, small cars and luxury vehicles imported from Japan, Singapore
and other countries for the past 30 years.
According to the MD they have set a target to sell more than 400
units before the end of this year.
Indra Traders Ltd is headed by Chairman Y. S. H. I. K. Silva and is
managed by Managing Director Y. S. H. R. S. Silva.
