Higher points for migrants with English

The Australian Migration Centre, which has been in operation for the past seven years, is one of the few accredited migration consultants holding an Australian Migration Licence in Sri Lanka.

Migration Consultant Hemantha Punchihewa, at the Australian Migration Centre said the good news for Sri Lankans wanting to migrate to Australia is that the government is now awarding higher points for fluency in English than earlier due to the greater demand for skilled workers.

Applicants should be between 18 and 45 and hold professional qualifications with relevant work experience to be eligible for consideration.

Under the new changes there is much opportunity for Senior Managers, Accountants, Engineers and ICT professionals to migrate.

These professions are in the migration demand list and additional points are awarded making it easy to migrate. Armed with years of experience handling immigration laws and migrant visas, the team at the Centre ensures applicants have smooth sailing right until the time they are granted a permanent visa.

This process, right from the time the consultants interview aspirants to test their eligibility as per Australian government criteria, to filing paperwork, to the time the visa comes through is entirely handled by the team of consultants.

The Centre has offices in Australia as well. Once the visa is finalised, the centre helps the migrants by equipping them with a handbook on settling down and briefs them on other aspects of life in Australia.

"Since the centre is accountable to the Australian Government, applicants can rest assured that their faith in us is well placed and that their future is in safe hands," Punchihewa said.
