Seaways Group enters Colombo/East Coast India trade lane
In a strategic move to strengthen its hold and to increase existing
tonnage on the East coast of India the Indian based Shipping giant, M/s.
Seaways Shipping Limited, has deployed its container vessel MV Kissama
of 582 TEUs capacity to operate between Colombo and the Bay of
Bengal/East Coast of India Region, much to the satisfaction of the
trade.
The Seaways Group of India is well known to the industry and has been
successfully operating its Feeder Services since 2005 on the East Coast
of India and between India and Bangladesh.
The company recently extended its East coast service to connect
Singapore and Malaysia which will enhance the tonnage deployed to meet
the growing demands of the trade. The addition of a vessel to cover the
Colombo - E C India is another step towards their commitment to the
trade and becomes a formidable Feeder Operator in this sector.
With this addition Seaways has gained dominance and strong control on
cargoes originating on East Coast of India into Bangladesh and will also
cater to the requirements of the MLOs, while reaffirming its commitment
to the container trade on the East Coast of India.
Seaways has put its aggressive plans in motion to expand its fleet
and operations, as unveiled at the inaugural function of its corporate
office and this is second addition to its existing fleet/tonnage within
a fortnight of making formal announcement of its plans. |
