China-Lanka 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations
A two day Conference will be held at the Bandaranaike Centre for
International Studies (BCIS) today and tomorrow to commemorate the 50th
Anniversary of China-Sri Lanka Diplomatic relations.
This conference has been organised as one item of a series of events
organised in 2007 to mark the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations
established in 1957 with People's Republic of China.
The Chinese delegation for the two day Conference will be headed by
Prof. Xu Jian, Vice President and two delegates from China Institute of
International Studies (CISS) and Sri Lanka will be represented by the
officers from the public and private sector, members of the China-Sri
Lanka friendship Association and representatives from Chambers numbering
over one hundred.
The Keynote Address will be delivered by Prime Minister Ratnasiri
Wickramanayaka. Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Ye Dabo will
participate. |
