NTB wins two titles

BASKETBALL: Nations Trust Bank (NTB) won both the 'B' and 'D' Division titles at the Mercantile Basketball Championships conducted by the MBA.

NTB won the 'B' Division title for the second consecutive year beating Hatton National Bank (HNB) 97-96 in the final, while winning the 'D' Division title beating DFCC 84-72 in the final.

NTB's 'B' Division side comprised Dhanamjeyan Wijendra (captain), S. Kapildev, Rajiv Kodituwakku, Manjula Jayaratne, Charitha Kulawardene, Hasitha Wijeratne, Ronie Roshanth and Rishan Yusuf, while the 'D' Division side comprised Suranga Palliyaguruge (captain), Nissanga Ruwanpura, Susantha Weerasuriya, Thilina de Silva, Gehan Subasinghe, Thakshitha Perera, Christy Chrishanthan and Harsha Perera. Ranura Nanayakkara was the coach of both NTB sides.
