LMD's April edition to unveil leading brands
LMD - Sri Lanka's leading business magazine, which is published by
Media Services said it will be on target to publish the eagerly awaited
annual rankings of the nation's most sought after brands, in its April
edition.
Unlike in past annual editions, there will be a whopping 100
companies in the fray vying for a place in the two widely accepted
rankings (by brand value and band power) for their respective brands.
They will include listed companies and for the first time, state-owned
and private companies.
In previous years, leading companies such as Dialog Telekom, Cargills,
Sri Lanka Telecom, Ceylinco Insurance, Commercial Bank and HNB, were
prominently featured in the annual rankings that are compiled by Brand
Finance Lanka, with the assistance from its UK parent firm.
"With SOEs and private companies joining the club for the first time,
the stakes are high this year. And naturally, this creates a healthy
competitive environment and a level playing field in which brands
representing all companies operating in this country are compared with
each other," a spokesperson for Media Services said. "It is certainly
going to be a 'tug of war between the leading brands," she said.
Brand Finance's proprietary methodologies are being adopted to
compile the brand-league tables presented by LMD - its brand valuations
have been accepted by leading audit firms, stock exchanges, tax
authorities and investment banks, among others around the world, a media
release said. |
