Pathum Vimana 2008 launched

Since the introduction of the Pathum Vimana, Hatton National Bank's (HNB) flagship product in 1993, it has become the country's largest and the most popular deposit draw to be conducted by a bank. As Hatton National Bank is celebrating 120 years of exceptional service to the nation the bank intends to present 12,000 prizes this year through Pathum Vimana 2008.

The prizes on offer this year include a luxury apartment in Colombo at the year end premium draw, a Mitsubishi Montero jeep at the year end grand draw, an Audi A4 Car in the mid year premium draw, three Toyota Avanza Cars in April, June and September, 50 air tickets to Singapore at the year end Grand Draw and cash prizes ranging from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 100,000 every week through the HNB Pathum Vimana TV Game Show aired every week on Rupavahini.

To gain eligibility for the year end Grand Draw, Toyota Avanza Car Draws and the TV game show customers must maintain a minimum balance of Rs.10, 000 in a savings, Singithi or Current Account for a minimum period of one month immediately prior to the draws.

To be eligible for the mid year and year end premium draws customers must maintain a minimum balance of Rs. 100,000 in a savings or Singithi Account or Rs. 50,000 in a current account for a minimum period of one month immediately prior to the draws. All qualifying account holders are entitled to multiple chances at the draws. The number of chances depends on the amount in the account and the period for which it is maintained.

During the past 15 years the bank awarded over 300,000 prizes - cars, houses and many more. HNB's main objective is to reach out to the urban and rural areas through a simple and effective savings schemes such as Pathum Vimana. Conceptualised to inculcate the savings habit among the people, Pathum Vimana has become popular among Sri Lankans due to its prize structure and the simplicity of the scheme.
