Grant McCann Erickson (GME), the pioneer agency in advertising celebrated 50 years of original ideas in the industry recently.

Chairperson of GME, Neela Marikkar said the agency has reached a milestone in interpreting and conceptualising ideas that have created some of the most original images in the industry.

Grant Advertising (Ceylon) Ltd., the brainchild of Reggie Candappa, the doyen of Sri Lankan advertising was set up on April 1, 1958. The agency entered into an alliance with McCann Erickson Worldwide in 1993.

From a single client during its fledgling years GME has increased its client portfolio which includes some of the leading corporate and public service accounts.

GME will launch its Corporate Social Responsibility project with the Association of Friends of Prisoners' Children to raise funds for scholarships for children of prison inmates.

GME will sponsor 50 children of prisoners to ensure better opportunities in life through education.
