ABC Lubricants came forward with Rs. 600,000 for the Up-Country

A spokesman for the SLTA told the Sunday Observer that the

Director of ABC Lubricants, Vasantha Thalagala, to the President of SLTA,
Janaka Bogollagama. The normal events (men's and women's singles, mixed

three age groups (under-12, 14 and 18).
Later on in the week, Touchwood Investments handed over the
sponsorship package of Rs. 1 million for SLTA's Mini Tennis programme
which is to cover 10 regions in Negombo, Batticaloa, Matale, Kurunegala,
Bandarawela, Ratnapura, Kandy, Badulla, Colombo and even Jaffna.
"Players in the 6 to 8 year category will be identified for further
training by SLTA's coaches with the basic techniques and correct ground
work imparted to them. We intend to conduct tournaments at school,
regional and district levels, culminating with an All-Island tournament
in Colombo" said the spokesman for SLTA.
