Tribute to mothers
She is always with a smile
My mother’s name is Kanthi. She is very beautiful. She loves me very
much. My mother is very kind. She always speaks pleasant words. She
never gets angry. She always has a smile on her face. My mother cooks
tasty food for me.
She is very humble and doesn’t harm others. She only wants to see our
progress.
I love my mother very much. May God bless her!
W. W. Piumi Pavithra Fernando, Ave Maria
Convent Branch School, Negombo.
The best in the world
My mother’s name is Menaka Nandanee. She is very beautiful. My mother
gave birth to me, fed me and took care of me, when I was helpless. She
is the best woman in the world. She is a housewife. Her favourite food
is rice and curry. Her favourite drink is water. She is a very good
mother.
A mother protects her children and shows them the correct path in
life. She works hard for the benefit of her family. The most valuable
thing in the world for a mother is her child. I love my mother.
Kavindi Dilshara, Grade 7, Sripalee College.
Be with me, forever!
When massive raindrops start splashing intolerably I turn to your
warmth to draw away from the awful chill
When the scorching sun is burning away my body and soul I feel your
shelter keeping me cool
Amidst thousands of malicious people I feel your affection gliding as
the river Which is a comfort and a strength to me
Mother, I pray to god that you should always be beside me On my
journey to find the reality of life
Raushan Uvaiz, St. Paul’s Girls’ School,
Milagiriya.
Thank you, my dear mum...
You were always there to hold me tight,
To make me feel everything’s alright.
You made me smile when I was sad,
You were the best friend I ever had.
You forgave me when I was wrong,
You made me feel that I belong.
You gave me courage to stand apart,
You gave me strength to make a start.
You taught me patience to deal with,
You brought me days of love to live with.
The bond that we still beautifully share,
Shows our love and care.
You, dear mum, means the world to me,
I hope I can make you see.
Today, with love and respect, I pay this tribute to you.
For, whatever I may be today, it is because of you, honest and true.
