Smart Cheque, another first from Standard Chartered
With Smart Cheque, Standard Chartered Credit Cardholders now enjoy
the convenience of obtaining a pay order or cheque which will be issued
by debiting the cardholder's credit card account with the Bank.
The Smart Cheque can be drawn in favour of any establishment or
individual that does not accept credit cards. These may include a
variety of payments including school fees to educational institutes,
housing rent or even airfare.
Standard Chartered Bank believes in being the right partner to all
its customers and has been constantly providing true value to its
Cardholders through value added benefits and services offered with the
Standard Chartered Credit Card. Repayment of the Smart Cheque
transaction value will be as per a normal credit card transaction.
Sheahan Arasaratnam, Head of Credit Cards and Personal Loans at
Standard Chartered Bank said, "We are glad to be the first to introduce
yet another innovative product that will add real value to our Credit
Card Customers.
The Smart Cheque was introduced specially to help those of us who
face difficulties in not being able to make certain payments when Credit
Cards are not an acceptable method of payment. Our customers can now use
a Smart Cheque to make payments such as their children's school fees and
even certain utility bill payments which would not traditionally accept
Credit Cards."
Cardholders can request the bank for cheques within their available
Credit Limit on the Standard Chartered Credit Card at a nominal charge
of 2% of the value of the Smart Cheque.
This charge will be debited from the card account once the cheque is
issued.
Smart Cheques will be issued only in Sri Lankan Rupees. Cardholders
may call the 24-hour customer service hotline on 2480480 provide the
details of the establishment, account or name of person for which the
Cheque is to be drawn in favour of along with the required amount. |
