Employment for rural youth

A large number of foreign jobs and private sector employment
opportunities will be offered to rural youth in the Kegalle District by
the Government at a job bank which will be held at the Ruwanwella Maha
Vidyalaya today.
The Labour Relations and Manpower Ministry will organise the one day
job bank on the directive of Minister Athauda Seneviratne.
The program will commence at 8.00 a.m. Over 60 private sector
organisations have already confirmed their participation at the job
bank.
Senior Ministry official Sarath Kalugamage told the Sunday Observer
that in addition to local and foreign employment opportunities, needy
people in the district will be given a comprehensive knowledge on how to
apply for jobs in various public and private sector organisations
according to their educational qualifications and work experience.
Ministry Vocational Guidance Unit Director Hemachandra Hewage said
that interested persons will also be given the opportunity to seek
recruitment to the security forces.
He said the Department of Registration of Persons will hold a mobile
office to collect applications for National Identity cards at the job
bank. |
