Union Assurance helps improve northern hospitals

Union Assurance PLC contributed to improve the hospital facilities of two main hospitals in the Northern District Jaffna and Karainagar. General Manager Marketing and Distribution Rukman Weerarathne said, "We strive to ensure that our business operations add value to communities with whom we interact."

The contribution towards the two hospitals was made during his recent visit to Jaffna. Weerarathne said that there is good business potential in the Jaffna region, and that he and his team intends to further invest in the northern region by offering their products and services to the markets.

This will enable us to provide more job opportunities and enhance their lifestyles.

Union Assurance PLC was the first private sector insurer to open a branch office in Jaffna and the Jaffna region proved that it was a wise investment when they won the best regional office award at the Union Assurance Annual Awards 2005.

The Jaffna branch has over 50 employees and records a significant growth momentum in life and general insurance operations.
