Nallur Festival from August 6

The annual festival of the historic Nallur Kandaswamy kovil in Jaffna will begin with the flag-hoisting ceremony on Wednesday.

Arrangements have been made by the temple management, Government Agent of Jaffna, Commissioner, Jaffna Municipal Council and the Security Forces in the North.

Extensive transport arrangements have been made in the peninsula for the pilgrims to travel to the Nallur temple and the Security Forces are also considering making adjustments in curfew hours to facilitate the devotees.

The festival will take place for twenty-five days with the Chariot festival on August 29 followed by the water-cutting ceremony on August 28.
