Free spectacles and school items for needy

The Hounslow Sri Lankan Janahanda Foundation (UK) launched its annual program to provide free spectacles and school items for the needy in Sri Lanka.

Funds for the project are provided by donors and well-wishers in the United Kingdom.

This year the program was held in Monaratenne, Welikanda. The villagers of Monaratenne have begun life after the liberation of the East.

The distribution at items was organised by the Ven. Nayake Thero of the Sri Dhammavijaya Ramaya, Monaratenne. Dr. Wijesundera, Chief Optician of the Polonnaruwa Hospital conducted the eye tests.

ASP, Polonnaruwa Rohan Silva, the HQI., Welikanda, M/s: Jayarathna and Dabare and residents of the area were present on the occasion.
