Ananda fall short by 15 runs

Ananda who were set to make 56 runs to win in six mandatory overs
lost six wickets for 41 runs in their quest for quick runs in their
drawn school cricket encounter against Wesley at Ananda Mawatha
yesterday.
In reply to Ananda's first innings score of 256, Wesley who were 90
for 4 overnight were all out for 140 with M.Pelige (31) and Javed Bongso
(20) doing the bulk of the scoring.
The Wesleyites following on with a deficit of 116, spearheaded by a
determined 64 by Pasan Samarasekera reached 171 in their second essay
leaving Ananda to make 56 in six mandatory overs for an outright win.
Dinesh Chandimal and Prabodha Seneviratne opened the batting and
began the run chase. But lost both openers with only 8 runs on the
board, and thereafter lost their way amidst a steady Wesley bowling
attack.
Ananda 256 for 8 declared (Prabodha Seneviratne 72, Udesh Nadeera 46,
Madumal Jayaratne 61, Dulanjana Wijesinghe 5 for 77) and 41 for 6 at
