Rugby player misbehaves on board a flight

RUGBY: The rugby antics dont seem to have an end. Reliable news
flitting in has it that a Sri Lankan rugby player from the hill country
had urinated into a sanitary bag aboard a flight during the Sri Lanka
team's flight back home from Bangkok after the Asiad qualifier last
Sunday (16) much to the disdain of the rest of the passengers.
The passengers, who were horrified by the incident, had protested to
the cabin crew who too had voiced their displeasure.
Following the incident the team manager is said to have made a
belated apology to the cabin crew.
The player concerned is said to have just stepped out to big time
rugby from a school in the hill country from where the game is dominated
like a king.
According to passengers, they would come forward to testify if the
necessity arose.
This player is also said to have harassed a stewardess throughout the
flight and had wanted to urinate when the flight was about to land. When
told by the cabin crew that he could not be on his feet as the plane was
landing he had reacted by taking a sanitary bag and doing the job in
full view of the passengers.
This totally unacceptable and brazen act by a national player who is
supposed to act like a 'sporting ambassador' is said to have embarrassed
all Sri Lankans aboard the flight.
This latest comedy in a running rugby scenario that began between
players and officials with a certain segment of players protesting the
appointment of the captain for the Chinese Taipei tour which was the
talking point in sports circles leaves a bad taste in the nostrils for
the game which has seen discipline nose dive to its lowest depths
judging by the incident on the national carrier starring this particular
player.
