Combined air raids on LTTE positions

SLAF fighter jets and MI-24 helicopter gunships launched combined air raids and ground support assaults at identified LTTE positions in Piramanthalkulama and south of Adampan, Kilinochchi, since early yesterday. According to Air Force Spokesperson, Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara fighter jets have launched precision air raids at an LTTE terrorist training camp at Piramanthalkulam area followed by MI-24 air assaults at LTTE positions south of Adampan.

The helicopter assaults were made assisting the advancing Task Force 1 infantry battalions at terrorist positions along the LTTE built earth bund surrounding ilinochchi.

Earlier, on Friday SLAF jets have raided an LTTE heavy gun position located in general area Paranthan, the Spokesperson further said.
