Little 13 cricket tourney will begin in December

The little 13 cricket tournaments for the year 2008-2009 conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association (SLSCA) along with Masscom (Pvt) Limited, an event management company that exclusively promotes and develops schools cricket tournaments throughout the island, will be solely sponsored by Bank of Ceylon.

These details were revealed to the media at a press briefing held in this connection at Great Wall restaurant on last Thursday (Nov. 27).

The Little 13 BOC Ran Kekulu Trophy has successfully completed its first round of divisions 1, 11 and 111 matches and are set to conduct the second rounds from Dec. 5-20.

The selection of provincial tournaments 86 teams will be drawn into six provincial groups, Western, Central, North Western, Southern, Sabaragamua and Uva, North Central and North Eastern.

The Provincial tournament (knockout) 30 over matches will be conducted from January 6 - 27. 2009.

The final teams will be in colour clothing as it is to be conducted with splendour and excitement.

Chairman, Bank of Ceylon Dr. Gamini Wickramasinghe, President of the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association. Dr. Senani Hewage and Managing Director of Masscom (Pvt) Limited Thilanga Sumathipala also addressed the gathering.
