Appeal for funds for Ranga Perera
APPEAL FOR FUNDS: M. Rohan Ranga Perera, 18-year-old student of St.
Joseph's College, Colombo, who excelled in cricket and swimming,
represented Under-15 Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Team at Tri Nations
Tournament in 2005.
He faced an accident while swimming and is now suffering spinal cord
injuries unable to move his hands and legs.
Consultant Neurologist Dr. Geethanjan Mendis recommends further
treatment at Buckinghamshire Hospital, UK, but the sole bread-winner of
the family - his father Lakshman Perera is financially not very sound
enough to raise this amount of money.
The procedure which is expensive, could be performed at The Royal
Buckinghamshire Hospital, United Kingdom and hence the parents seek
financial assistance from the general public for the treatment and
follow-up care which will cost around Rs. 60 lakhs.
The parents kindly appeal to sports-loving public to contribute to
A/C No. 1171710, Bank of Ceylon, Peliyagoda.
The father's address is: Lakshman Perera, 342/10, St. Mary's Lane,
Biyagama Road, Pattiya, Kelaniya - TP 011-2910124, 077-3991080. |
