Fifth Reggie Candappa Awards ceremony

The advertising industry toasted the life and legacy of industry legend Reggie Candappa at the fifth Reggie Candappa Creative Awards (RCCA) ceremony at the Ceylon Continental Hotel and brought together the big and small of Sri Lanka's advertising industry and other glitterati in a unified appreciation of the craft of advertising.

Popularly known as the 'Reggies', the awards ceremony this year's program commenced with an audio visual that portrayed the life and work of Reggie Candappa, closely followed by a brilliant skit that was in line with this year's creative theme for the Reggies - `Is your craft in Place?' - a satirical play on all those elements that need to come together for a successful campaign.

A star studded and inspirational night, guests were enthralled with amazing performances by famed artists Mariam Lithufi and Billy Fernando and the outstanding entries that were displayed to showcase inspiring work that was truly a reflection of Reggie Candappa's dream to develop creative artistry in the local ad industry.

With contestants striving to satisfy the high expectations of an esteemed and renowned panel of judges made up of some of the most influential creative forces in the advertising industry today, i.e. Trevor Kennedy, Chandini Rajaratnam, Upali Herath, Russel Miranda, Luxshman Nadaraja, Shehan Karunatillake, N. Soruban, Ranga Dassanayake, Udaya Tennakoon, Suren de Silva and Vinodh Anand. the awards this year drew an enthusiastic response from agencies, production houses and individuals alike and saw a cross section of winners in several categories, where individuals and smaller agencies shone amongst the big names in the industry.
