SriLankan 'Christmas on Wings' celebrates 25th year
SriLankan Airlines will celebrate a quarter century of its yuletide
concert "Christmas on Wings", at the Ananda College Auditorium on
December 13.
A unique feature of the concert is that the choir, dance acts and
dramas of Christmas on Wings draw participants from all religions,
reflecting the diverse culture of the National Carrier.
Senior Manager Financial Services, Kuveni Wijayaratne who directs
Christmas on Wings said, "This year's Christmas on Wings will be even
more impressive than in the past, with a number of new acts and an
expanded choir."
The airline's Christmas Choir has over 60 voices and performs in
English, Sinhala and Tamil.
There are also solos and duets, as well as dance acts and dramas.
The 90-minute concert will begin at 6 p.m.
The concert will be followed a few days later by a social service
project by its participants, who will this year spend a full day at St.
Anthony's Home for Children in Mount Lavinia.
The festive season of the home's 60 orphans will be brightened by
gifts, music, singing, games and competitions and fun, including a visit
by Santa. |
