Italcementi helps dealers

Having recognised the need for proficiency in business, International Cement Traders (Pvt) Ltd, (Italcementi group) launched a program titled 'Tips for Tomorrow's Business' in an attempt to help their dealers increase their bottom line, thereby improving overall productivity and increasing sales.

As a contributor to national development, International Cement Traders during the last ten years of their operations in Sri Lanka, has set a benchmark for the entire cement industry by going that extra mile to ensure the competency development of their dealers to provide a high quality service for their customers.

International Cement Traders has conducted similar quality assurance seminars for masons as well over the years in various parts of the country.

The newly launched program focused on how best ICT's dealers could manage their business profitably. The program was conducted by well-known Marketing and Management Consultant Prasanna Perera and Nadeeshan Hettiarachchi, a senior auditor. Twenty-five dealers were invited for the program and were presented with course material at its conclusion. An open forum too was held which facilitated greater understanding and gave the participants an opportunity to clarify any problem particular to them.

All the dealers who participated in the program expressed their appreciation to ICT for having taken the initiative to conduct such a series of programs and added that this would be the first of many similar programs.

According to ICT Managing Director Colin Nelson, it is vital for any business to maintain a high level of customer service as well as employee satisfaction for its success and profitability.

"For the first time in the Sri Lankan cement industry, a company has taken a proactive step to develop the profitability of its dealers in a bid to better equip them to face future business challenges and we are proud to be that ICT has taken the lead".
