Leukemia: child patient appeals for help
Three-year-old Vibasith Atapaththu is suffering from Relapsed Acute
Myeloblastic Leukemia (M2). He was admitted and treated initially by
Consultant Paediatric Oncologist Dr. Damayanthi Peiris at LRH in
November 2006 when the diagnosis was made. Upto now he is well and now
the disease is relapsed.
For further treatment at the Christian Medical College, Vellore,
India under Dr. Alok Srivastava, it will cost Rs. 5 million in Sri
Lankan rupees.
The parents humbly appeal to the public for contributions to undergo
Bone Marrow Transplantation which could be remitted to: A/C No.
1004-5021-1111 of Sampath Bank, Borella Branch.
Heart patient
Ivon Nissanka, Divulapitiya - Group Corr.
R.P.A.S. Rajapaksa, a father of three of Horampella, Minuwangoda is
suffering from an acute heart ailment. Consultant Cardiologist, Dr.
Kanishka Kamaladasa has recommended coronary angioplasty (PTCA) and
stenting to save his life. The therapeutic procedure is estimated to
cost around Rs. 500,000.
Rajapaksa is unable to bear this expenditure due to his present
financial plight and seeks public assistance to help him. Contributions
may be remitted to A/C No. 1-0098-02-3758-2 of the National Savings
Bank, Minuwangoda Branch or A/C No. 8710002263 of the Commercial Bank,
