The multi million Footwear and Leather Manufacturing International
Training Centre will be set up in Ratmalana. The government implemented
a series of programs to improve the footwear and leather industry which
has been identified as a significant potential contributor to the
economy, said Secretary, Ministry of Industrial Development R. A. D.
Piyatileke.He said that the Footwear Design Development Institute FDDI
in India is providing the technical assistance for the setting up of the
footwear and leather training centre which will be located in the
Ratmalana Clothing Industry Training Institute CITI premises.
