Army donates Expo collection to charity

From the funds of sponsorships during the 'Future Minds of Jaffna - 2008' exhibition, a sum of Rs. 700,000 have been evenly distributed among 14 charity organisations operating in Jaffna.

The money was handed over to 14 children's and elders' homes in Jaffna. According to Jaffna Security Forces Commander Major General G. A. Chandrasiri the exhibition received a total collection of Rs. 5,500,000 as sponsorship from various business organisations.

"Since this money belongs to the people of Jaffna we, the Security Forces thought it would be best if we distribute it among the needy," Major General said.
