SSC in innings win

CRICKET: The defending champions SSC produced a magnificent performance to beat Baduraliya CC outright by an innings and 177 runs with more than a day to spare in their SLC Premier League Tier A tournament match continued at Maitland Place yesterday.

A total of 19 wickets fell on a dramatic second days play as Baduraliya CC were bowled out for 161 and 98 runs in their two innings respectively with Sachithra Senanayake and Kaushal Lokuarachchi causing the damage.

SSC: 436 for 9 decl.

Colts heading for outright win

Penetrative bowling from Nuwan Kulaskera and Sajeewa Weerakoon put Colts CC well on course to an easy outright victory over Sri Lanka Army SC on the second day of their SLC Premier League Tier A tournament match continued at Havelock Park yesterday.

Army SC trailing by 51 runs on the first innings slumped to 120 for 9 in their second innings with Kulasekera and Weerakoon capturing three wickets each. This was after Rajiv Weerasinghe and Thisara Perera had compiled fighting half centuries to give Colts CC first innings points.

Army SC: 175 and 120 for 9 (S. Prasanna 35, R. Mendis 29, N. Kulasekera 3 for 9, S. Weerakoon 3 for 41, D. Perera 2 for 15).

Dynamic all rounder Gayan Wijekoon hammered a splendid 110 to put Chilaw Marians SC in a strong position on the second day of their SLC Premier League Tier A tournament match against Moors SC continued at Braybrooke Place yesterday.

Chilaw Marians SC: 389 (G. Wijekoon 110, C. Welagedera 4 for 107, N. Ranjith 2 for 44).

Three superb half centuries
