Adawatte Estate ranked No. 1

In its relentless drive to achieve the highest quality standards, Adawatte Estate Lunugala, managed by Finlays Tea Estates Sri Lanka has once again secured the No. 1 spot in the Uva Medium category for the season 2008, in addition to an all time high cumulative sale average of Rs. 332.73 per kg for any estate in the Uva planting district.

Adawatte was able to achieve these feats due to its remarkable consistency in maintaining the highest standards of manufacture and topping the market with the greatest regularity, throughout the 12-month period. It also has the distinction of achieving an all time record price for an OP1 at Rs. 1,240 per kg, and a BOP1 grade at Rs. 960 per Kg. Adawatte is renowned for high quality pure orthodox teas, possessing delicate liquoring characteristics particularly during the Uva quality season.

In recognition of the fact that Adawatte tea factory, has strictly adhered to stringent quality standards in conformity with the requirements of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution, the tea factory is now certified for ISO 9001-2000, HACCP, ISO 2200-2005 and CQC 1 star rating.
